Kevin L. Smith, 63 of Worcester MA, loving brother, uncle and friend, passed away at home unexpectedly, July 2, 2019. Kevin, also known as Kev (by his family), was born in New Rochelle, NY.
Kevin is survived by his wife Kate Annan; sisters Carolyn L. her husband Harry Walker; Priscilla A. and her husband George Pettway; his brothers Robert E. Smith and his wife Jeannie; Todd M. Smith and his wife Betsy; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kevin enjoyed life, loved his family and was a great friend to many. He had a jaunty step, easy to spot from afar, and he had a quirky sense of humor. He was compassionate and made laughing a priority. A genuine 'people person', Kev drove a Yellow Cab for many years where he would strike up conversations with his passengers, entertaining them with his knowledge of the city. He particularly liked to keep you up-to-date on the "happenings" in Worcester. Along with working on his computer, Kev loved watching game shows. "JEOPARDY!" and "Wheel of Fortune" were among his favorites. If you needed something done, Kev was your go-to-guy. He will truly be missed by all of us.
For the past 19 years, Kevin worked at Eaton Wright line in Worcester, MA, where he was a key member of the fabrication of office furniture and data enclosures. He was trained and well-versed in operating all pieces of machinery in the Wood Shop which made the work surfaces for the office furniture product line. His presence will be missed and his loss felt.
He was predeceased by his mother Maxine D. Smith, his stepdad Robert Coates and his sister Marilyn H. Brown.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Kevin's family between 5:00PM and 7:00PM at the Bishop Funeral Home 71 Pleasant Street Worcester, MA 01609, on Friday September 6, 2019.
