Wendy Anne Newcomb

Wendy Anne Newcomb, 57, passed away peacefully at home in Lunenburg, Massachusetts surrounded by loved ones on August 31, 2023 after a valiant 8-year battle with Cortical Basal Degeneration. Wendy, born on May 13, 1966, to Elizabeth Emond and Stephen Lambert, graduated from Assabet Valley Regional Vocational School in 1984. Later in life, Wendy obtained a Quality Assurance certificate from Mount Wachusett Community College and continued her education at Fitchburg State University. Wendy's remarkable life was defined by her profound love for dogs. She not only owned operated a self-service dog wash known as Dirty Hairy's but also established 3C Baking/Brew Dog Biscuits, a dog biscuit company that delighted countless furry companions. Wendy could often be found at local farmers' markets, proudly showcasing her creations and engaging with the community she held so dear. In addition to her entrepreneurial spirit, Wendy embraced the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed boat rides and events on the lake, football parties, attending fairs, baking, and cherished moments at the Lunenburg Eagle House and day programs. Wendy also had an adventurous side, finding excitement in motorcycle rides and the company of friends. Wendy is survived by her life partner, Frederick Daley, her daughter, Kasey Newcomb, her mother, Elizabeth Emond, and her brother, Dean Lambert. She was predeceased by her father, Stephen Lambert. Wendy's kind and thoughtful soul will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. Wendy was strong-willed and stubborn, but those traits defined Wendy. They were part of who she was, and her strength undoubtedly helped her deal with life’s challenges. Her unwavering spirit, boundless love for animals, and dedication to family and friends leave behind a legacy of kindness, adventures, and generosity that will continue to inspire us all. A celebration of life will be held on September 23, 2023, from 12:00 – 3:00 at Double Tree Hilton Leominster Hotel (99 Erdman Way, Leominster, MA 01453). Wendy actively engaged in the Frontotemporal Disorders (FTD) Unit at Mass General Hospital, not only participating in fundraising efforts and events but also contributing to their research study. Her dedication and involvement helped advance our understanding of her disease, while developing better knowledge, diagnosis, and treatment for all forms of FTD and related dementia syndromes. For this reason, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Wendy Newcomb in support of the Frontotemporal Disorders Unit at Mass General.
